Wonder Wife Wednesday - special holiday edition!
It's Independence in the USA, and what better way to celebrate than with the star-spangled shield-slinger! Or as Wonder Wife would call him, Go-America Guy...
This confirms an impression I've had for a very long time: the Marvel-derived superhero cartoons I've seen in the past several years have been poorly structured and incomprehensibly written. I've honestly sat there thinking Wait, why did they put that in? A general audience isn't going to get that! And this is my worst suspicion confirmed. The Wonder Wife did an admirable job there; the confusion wasn't her fault.
Whereas I think Marvel has been outdoing Warner on the film side -- I agree wholeheartedly with Jim McLauchlin as linked in your previous post -- Warner has always had a much better handle on what makes animated television work. No surprise there, I guess! The DC cartoons have been much better at story structure. Heck, I'd send aspiring comics writers to watch the 2003 Teen Titans series to learn better pacing and economy of exposition than we're seeing in superhero comics lately.

All I can say is: "I don't know what it is, but it sure is big!!"
